Have you driven the 2024 Ford Mustang?

You might be thinking, “I’ve driven a Ford Mustang, I’ve driven them all, haven’t I?”

Of course, the purists will roar at this, and the enthusiasts will know you haven’t had the real experience yet. Because year after year, the sporty Mustang is refined, improved, and provides a renewed driving experience.

The year 2024 is no exception. And we’re not necessarily talking about the powerful Dark Horse version, which is making its debut with the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 engine ever produced by Mustang. No, we’re talking about the 2024 Ford Mustang, pure and simple, the one that will make you appreciate summer driving even more.

Changes Under the Hood

No, the Mustang doesn’t change completely for 2024, but it does have enough refinements to turn your head. On the engine side, the base versions remain unchanged, keeping the 2.3 EcoBoost that still delivers 315 horsepower. Not bad for a relatively fuel-efficient 4-cylinder.

Of course, there’s the Dark Horse and its 500 horsepower, but it’s in a class of its own.

Then there’s the Mustang GT: a 480-horsepower 5.0-liter Ford Mustang V8 (up from last year) with a choice of a 10-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission. The latter also features a little system called “Rev Matching” that makes us feel like a real race car driver, making an exceptional automated heel-toe.

A New Style

The 2024 Ford Mustang also changes a bit physically. It retains its traditional look but slightly modifies its front end for a more pronounced sportiness. The rear fenders are now more rounded, but the plunging hood is still in place.

The real change is in the cockpit, where large screens provide all the driving and comfort information. Inspired by fighter jets, this more modern-than-ever cockpit is totally spectacular and can even adapt to different driving modes. Nostalgia buffs will even appreciate the early 90s Fox Body look that can be installed as a dial.

The suspensions, the steering, the new power, and the new look are more than enough to say that the 2024 Mustang is new. And that it deserves a more thorough test drive.

Think about it: driving such a “pony car” on winding roads, hair blowing in the wind (because it’s also available as a convertible), on the most beautiful summer days, it’s a dream. So, when are you going to test it out?
