2021 Ford Bronco Sport
What You Need to Know
The Bronco Sport is a versatile compact SUV that’s ready to please adventurous driving enthusiasts who likes to venture off the beaten path. Its unique profile and mechanical capabilities make it ready to face all conditions–while offering remarkable value for money. It is as at home as a family vehicle as it is an outdoor companion for the most active; a true adventurer capable of tackling the most demanding roads if need or desire arises.
Unique styling
Physically, the Bronco Sport looks similar to its big brother, the Bronco. Square headlights and an athletic silhouette from the front tie in a familial look, mostly thanks to LED strips that intersect the headlights. The black plastic cladding around the wheel arches and on the sides add to its rugged charm.
The Bronco Sport is only available in 4-door configuration. However, fans will be able to give their Sport a unique look as it is available in ten different colours. Certain shades reserved for the top-trim Badlands model.
The rear of the Bronco Sport is just as recognizable, equipped with a hatch window that opens on its own, and LED taillights.
The Bronco Sport’s interior is just as stylish as its exterior. A raised roof offers ample headroom, and its cargo area is the largest in its class with the ability to accommodate two mountain bikes when fitted with an optional interior bike rack. There’s even a storage bin under the rear seat to store your muddy clothes once the ride is over. And some versions even have washable rubber floor mats!
Technological and comfortable
The 2021 Bronco Sport’s dashboard will be quite familiar to Ford vehicle enthusiasts. It features traditional controls as well as an 8-inch touchscreen that houses the innovative Sync3 infotainment system. Apple CarPlay or Android Auto are standard, offering further convenience and functionality.
Make no mistake: Ford designers and engineers have ensured the Sport comes equipped with features designed to make it easy to drive. Of course, it has a rearview camera as standard, and a front-facing camera pointing to the trails, if necessary.
To make off-roading even easier, the Bronco Sport also gets G.O.A.T. (Go Over Any Terrain) Modes, a drive-mode selector that allows you to configure your Bronco Sport to best handle the terrain and environment around you. Modes include Slippery, Deep Snow/Sand, Baja, Mud, and Rock Crawl. The latter is only available on the Badlands trim. Normal, Eco, and Sport modes are also available.
Efficient engines
Under the hood, the Bronco Sport borrows two proven engines from the Ford Escape. With the exception of the Badlands version, all models come with a turbocharged 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine. The result is 181 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque. A 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 250 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque provides motivation in the Badlands model.
All Bronco Sport models come with standard all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission. Towing capacities range from 2,000 to 2,200 pounds, depending on the engine selected.
A total of four versions of the 2021 Bronco Sport are available: Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks and Badlands.
